Cathedral of Parma, Italy
The Cathedral of Parma (Duomo) is a church in Parma, Italy.
The church was consecrated in 1116. The original building was heavily damaged by an earthquake in 1117 and had to be restored. Remains can be seen throughout the church.
The Cathedral of Parma has a gothic belfry which was constructed from 1284-1294.
There are several famous and valuable historic pieces housed in the Cathedral, including the Assumption of the Virgin fresco by Correggioand from 1526 the Deposition by Benedetto Antelami from 1178.
